Since its founding in 2005 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, by owner Kim Williamson M. Ed., BCBA, Circles BCS has been one of the area’s leaders in providing behavior consultation services. We offer a range of services from behavior intervention consultation and behavior therapy to educational programming. In the past several years, Circles BCS has expanded. In addition to our original clinic location in Bloomington, Illinois, in 2010, Circles BCS opened a new clinic in Rantoul, Illinois to accommodate our clients in this area. Additionally, in January 2014 we relocated our Bloomington clinic to a larger facility to support the needs of our growing clientele. Though Circles BCS has only been around for a short time, the company has continued to grow steadily year after year. This growth has helped the areas in which the company resides in, not only by the services provided to the public, but also by the jobs that have been created in the surrounding communities. It is our goal to continue this steady expansion to better the lives of those living in the communities we serve.
We endeavor to provide all of our clients with the very best services possible. To do this, we employ a highly trained Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and thoroughly trained and supervised behavior therapists and aides. Every member of our staff continually receives ongoing education and training to ensure that we teach and care for our clients in a manner that exceeds your expectations.
Who We Help
Strictly speaking ABA services are designed to help anyone who wishes to change a behavior. For example, if you want to quit smoking, learn better study habits, or stop biting your nails, ABA services can help with that. However, that is not typically who seeks us out. We primarily work with children, and some adults, with autism or other developmental or language disorders of widely differing severities. The large majority of our clients utilize our clinic for therapy services while a smaller percentage prefer in-home services. If you have any questions on whether or not services are right for you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
How We Help
First and foremost, we use the scientifically-grounded principles of ABA to guide our process of helping our clients develop significant life skills. More specifically, we create customized ABA programs for each individual addressing both unwanted behaviors and learning deficits. The programs are individualized based on the needs and preferences of our clients. Additionally, once the program has been designed and implemented, we constantly collect and review progress data to ensure that our programs are having the desired effect, and we adapt the program accordingly.
We use Brofenbrenner’s ecological model as a guiding philosophy when designing our intervention programs. In the ecological model, the child is at the center of a circle, which represents his or her environment. The child and the environment have a reciprocal relationship. Not only does the environment influence the child’s learning and development, but the child also has an impact on the surrounding environment and the people in it.
Circles BCS works in cooperation with the people in child’s environment to make the most of the bi-directional relationships. This approach is not only beneficial to the child, but to the people surrounding the child as well
